The municipal authority of Marathon, East Attica, has vowed to launch a probe into the illegal construction of 13 seaside bungalows on a privately owned plot of land inside a Natura-protected national park.

Bungalows built in the Gölcük National Park as part of a planned development, which was later annulled by a court order, will soon be sold and relocated to other areas, the mayor of the northwestern province of Bolu has said.

The municipality of the northwestern province of Bolu has begun the construction of bungalows in the Gölcük National Park, one of the symbols of the province, which has drawn criticism from environmentalists. 

Construction works in the gulf of Coral, near camping South have started days prior to the Easter celebrations in Bulgaria.

Two fundaments have been laid at a distance of approximately 60-70 meters away from the beach.

In the words of environmental activists construction plans involve a mini village of 16 houses with a total surface of over 1,200 square meters.
