Colombia will not close its border with Panama along the Darien Gap — the dense, dangerous jungle that has become a major route for migration toward the United States — Foreign Minister Luis Gilberto Murillo told AFP Saturday.

The comments came as Jose Raul Mulino, elected as Panama's new president on May 5, promised to shut down the Darien Gap while on the campaign trail.

A bus with illegal migrants was detained in the center of Sofia. Nearly 20 people were in it. Police teams are on the scene. Three ambulances arrived. Some of the migrants are unconscious.

The bus has a foreign registration and right-hand drive.

According to unconfirmed information, the driver fled the scene.

French police regularly clear camps around Calais and Dunkirk

Alba Domínguez Pena, from No Name Kitchen, an NGO helping refugees, said some 40 to 60 people live in this tent shelter, which they call "Bangladeshi jungle", as it is "a squat made mostly of Bangladeshi people.

Britain and France on Jan. 18 signed a new deal to boost border security after a request by French President Emmanuel Macron, concerned at the number of migrants in Calais trying to reach British shores.

Emmanuel Macron has vowed there will never be another large refugee camp in Calais and warned those people remaining in the area who hope to reach Britain that they are at a "dead end", according to the Guardian. 

Mudassir, 18, from Pakistan's city of Peshawar has tried to enter the European Union 30 times but was always caught and sent back to his starting point in Serbia, reported Reuters. 

 French authorities evacuated hundreds of migrants from a wood on the northern coast near Calais on Tuesday over fears it could become a magnet for others hoping to head to Britain, The Local reported.

Paris police on Friday announced the evacuation of a migrant camp in the city's 18th arrondissement, aacording to The Local - France.

The announcement comes around a month after the last evacuation of the same camp at the Porte de la Chapelle, and is the 35th such operation in the past two years.

After banking on neglect, hostility and mistreatment to discourage a steady trickle of migrants, the new French government was ordered by France’s highest administrative body to do better this week and at least provide water and toilets to the people.
