Camping trailer enthusiasts to meet in Istanbul on weekend

Turkey's largest festival for camping trailer enthusiasts will take place in Istanbul's district of Kilyos on the Black Sea coast this weekend.

"İstanbul Karavan Festivali" will bring together hundreds of trail owners, outdoor sports experts and nature lovers on an area of 40 hectares between May 13 and 15.

Demand for camping sites with ‘fair price’ in Istanbul skyrockets

The camping sites in Istanbul, which offer an alternative vacation in tents with "fair prices," have become a new trend in the metropolis, with people flocking to the sites in the districts of Şile, Çatalca and Sarıyer.

"The occupancy rate of the camping sites in Istanbul has reached 80 percent for the Eid holiday next week," Demirören News Agency reported on April 29.

Caravan tourism gets a boost during pandemic

Vacationers who avoid being in crowded environments due to the coronavirus pandemic are preferring caravanning, an official of the National Camping and Caravanning Federation said on May 28. 

Leyla Özdağ, CEO of Turkey's only authorized caravan tourism federation, spoke to Anadolu Agency about the increasing demand for camping and caravans.

Bulgarian Parliament Adopted Changes to the Black Sea Coast Planning Act

Bulgaria's Parliament approved amendments to the Black Sea Coast Planning Act, which finally banned the deployment of tents, umbrellas, loungers and other beach accessories on the sand dunes, reports BNT. 

The new texts also ban the passage, parking and stay of vehicles on dunes, except in the case of permitted construction.
