Drugs, knives seized in surprise police raid in Avlona prison
Improvised knives and small quantities of drugs were seized by members of the Crime Prevention and Suppression Team (OPKE) in Avlona prison, north of the capital, late on Wednesday night.
The officers, backed by a riot police unit, entered the prison to carry out a surprise raid at 11 p.m. and searched all prisoners' cells.

Police Detained a Bulgarian in France with Nearly 30 kg of Cannabis
A Bulgarian has been detained in France with nearly 30 kilograms of cannabis, Radio Blio reported on their website.
The 55-year-old man traveled from Barcelona, Spain, to Germany. He was checked by customs officials while he stopped in his car at a resting place on the A7 motorway in the south-east French department of Drôme on Wednesday night against Thursday.
Over One Tonne of Cannabis Was Found Aboard a Yacht in Greece
More than 1 tonne of raw cannabis was seized by the port authorities in Gytheio, southern Greece. Cannabis has been found aboard a Delaware-flagged yacht called "My Dream," sailing in Lakonia Bay, according to BGNES.
Two foreign nationals, aged 42 and 28, were arrested.
Police net illegal cannabis farmers near Larissa
A gang of illegal cannabis cultivators was unraveled by police near the town of Larissa in central Greece on Friday.
Two people, aged 48 and 47, were arrested and charged with forming a gang and violating drugs and gun laws.
Police, who are also looking for two other people, seized 1,491 trees of up to 2.5 meters in height, a rifle and three knives, among other items.
