Students bury time capsule to be dug up after 25 years
On the occasion of Middle East Technical University's (METU) Alumni Day, graduates and students buried a time capsule they prepared to be opened after 25 years by future students.
METU employees, students and alumni will convey their messages to future students through nearly 1,500 letters locked in the capsule.
Turkish scientist invents chickpea-sized capsule to diagnose body diseases
A Turkish scientist has invented a capsule of the size of a chickpea, which typically helps in diagnosing diseases in the digestive system when swallowed, enabling an easier endoscopy procedure.
"This is a brand-new technology," Rabia Tuğçe Yazıcıgil, working in a lab affiliated with the Boston University in the U.S., told daily Hürriyet on Aug. 3.
Time Capsule Placed in Central Square of Bulgaria’s Plovdiv
A capsule with messages for future generations was built at the Rome Forum in Bulgaria's second-largest city of Plovdiv. Its reconstruction is part of a major renovation in the city's main square. The capsule contains information about the history and life of the ancient city, as well as interesting facts about 2019, the year in which Plovdiv is the European Capital of Culture.
Nazi time capsule from 1934 discovered in Third Reich training school
In September 2016, after 82 years, a black copper cylinder “time capsule” full of disturbing Nazi artifacts was recovered. It was buried deep in concrete at the Ordensburg Krossinsee Nazi training center.
