Bulgarian Minister of Regional Development and Public Works Says Toll Taxes will not Affect Food Prices
The toll fees will not significantly affect the prices of food products, Minister of Regional Development and Public Works Petya Avramova told reporters in Sliven, quoted by Focus Radio. She explained that the lowest tolls would be for vehicles of 3.5 to 12 tonnes, the most common means of transport and the most used in domestic goods transport.
Turkey’s state-run roads, bridges bring in $55 million in two months
Turkey earned 293.8 million Turkish Liras ($55.4 million) in toll fees from two bridges on the Istanbul Strait as well as toll roads in the first two months of 2019, official figures showed on March 28.
Cross checks to be carried out on vehicle owners dodging inspections
Motorists who have skipped the biennial inspection of their vehicles will need to visit a Vehicle Inspection Center (KTEO) soon or face a hefty fine, as the Independent Authority for Public Revenue is launching a cross-checking process in cooperation with the Transport Ministry to identify the vehicle owners who have neglected this obligation.
Problems With the E-vignettes Introduced on 1 January
Today is the fourth day with problems with the e-vignettes introduced in Bulgaria on 1 January, 2019, reported the Bulgarian National Radio.
No terminals for purchasing electronic vignettes at border checkpoints and petrol stations, or terminals which are out of order is what the public have been complaining of.
Road tax can now be paid by January 11
The deadline for road tax payments has been extended to Friday, January 11, after Finance Ministry figures showed on Monday that a considerable number of vehicle owners had yet to fulfill this obligation.

Electronic Vignettes Come Into Force as of 1st of January
Some 13,000 electronic vignettes have been purchased so far, the Road Infrastructure Agency reported on 31st of December, quoted by the Bulgarian National Television.
