Cross checks to be carried out on vehicle owners dodging inspections
Motorists who have skipped the biennial inspection of their vehicles will need to visit a Vehicle Inspection Center (KTEO) soon or face a hefty fine, as the Independent Authority for Public Revenue is launching a cross-checking process in cooperation with the Transport Ministry to identify the vehicle owners who have neglected this obligation.
Pileup causes traffic delays in Thessaloniki
Around a dozen vehicles were involved in a pileup on the western-bound lane of the Thessaloniki ring road on Friday morning, causing significant traffic delays.
Traffic Police said an estimated 15 cars smashed into each other, but there have been no reports of injuries so far.

Winter Tires are Mandatory from Today in Bulgaria
As of November 15, drivers should have changed tires to be adapted to winter conditions or their tread to be over 4 mm.
It will also check whether the headlamps are set correctly and that the windscreen wipers are in good condition.
If there is anything wrong, the fine would be BGN 50.

Highway horror: 8 dead, at least 35 wounded/PHOTOS, VIDEOS
The Interior Ministry (MUP) announced this on Tuesday morning.
A press release said that the pile-ups happened in both directions of the highway at around 07:20 hours CET, involving multiple vehicles - more than 40 have been damaged, some completely.
B92.net has learned that 37 people have been injured, while the police put the number at between 35 and 40.

Extra fine for skipping a KTEO test
Some 1 million vehicle owners have just four days left before Saturday's deadline by which their car, truck or motor cycle must have passed a roadworthiness test at a public or private roadworthiness testing center (KTEO), otherwise they face an additional fine of 150 euros to be imposed through the Finance Ministry's Taxisnet.

Only Eco-cars will have Access to the Center of Sofia
Only eco-cars will have access to the center of Sofia, and air polluters will not be allowed to enter. This measure is according to a regulation of the transport ministry. Eco cars will feature a sticker and a built-in chip, which will be obtained with a successful technical inspection.
The Bulgarian Police will Increase Checks on Buses and TIR Trucks
Increase of checks on trucks and buses will be carried out in Bulgaria during the week of 23-29 July, according to DG National Police. The operation takes place in all Member States of the European Traffic Police Service - TISPOL.
