Electronic cigarettes in Turkey will be banned completely, Health Minister Fahrettin Koca has said.

The Turkish government intends to ban the sale and import of e-cigarettes, Health Minister Fahrettin Koca announced, BTA reported.

The matter will be discussed in Parliament.

A second US state has banned flavoured e-cigarettes.

New York complied with data linking the deaths of several people with the use of a product advertised as safer than smoking.

Gov. Andrew Cuomo said an emergency law would be used to ban flavoured e-cigarettes.

Yesterday, the Tobacco giant British American Tobacco announced that it will lay off 2,300 employees globally by January, Reuters reported.

Eight Bulgarian and international organizations signed a memorandum here on Monday on a comprehensive ban on tobacco advertising, promotion and sponsorship in the country, writes Xinhua. 

The first e-cigarette death case in Los Angeles has been registered. This is the fourth such fatal incident in the United States in two weeks, BNT reported.

The local health department issued warnings to all consumers of such products. It is not yet known what is the exact cause of the lung injury of the deceased.
