Vienna – Foreign Minister Anže Logar was on a working visit to Austria to meet his counterpart Alexander Schallenberg. The pair assessed the countries’ relations in the past year as positive and noted the importance of the 100th anniversary of the Carinthian plebiscite in presence of both presidents. He also met Slovenian minority representatives.

Vienna – A law providing an EUR 4 million donation to the Austrian province of Carinthia as promised by the federal government on the centenary of the Carinthian plebiscite last year was also published in the Slovenian language on Monday in what is the first such instance in Austria’s second republic. Slovenia has welcomed the step.

"First of all, it should be clearly stated that the gathering that is held is a church manifestation. It is not up to the government, the president of the province nor the provincial government to decide whether this gathering will be held," Kurz told reporters.

Carinthia is a magical landscape in Slovenia, bordering Austria where it finds its Austrian name - Kaernten. The Carinthian people have a unique attitude to their native land - they carry it in their hearts and respectfully weave it into their lives wherever they are.

The Austrian state of Carinthia is being urged to ban a Croatian event at Bleiburg commemorating defeated Nazi collaboration forces and civilians killed by the Yugoslav Partisans in 1945.
