An Istanbul court has ordered authorities to conduct an analysis at the scene where Berkin Elvan, a boy who died nine months after being hit by a police teargas canister during the 2013 Gezi Park protests, was shot.

A 19-year-old Turkish man who has vocal cord paralysis will be able to have his voice back after a surgery in Ankara, a first in Turkey, state-run Anadolu Agency reported on Feb. 28. 

Twenty police officers must testify in the killing of Berkin Elvan, a 14-year-old who died after being shot by a tear gas canister by police during the Gezi Park Protests in 2013, an Istanbul court ruled on Dec. 13.

The mother of Abdullah Cömert, who was killed during the Gezi protests of 2013 after being hit on the head with a tear gas canister in the southern city of Antakya, had to be rushed to hospital during the trial of her late son on April 1.
