Greece leads in recreational boats for hire
Greece has the largest fleet of recreational boats available for hire in the region, according to a survey by Riginos, one of the country's leading yachting companies.
The number of vessels available for leasing in this country reached 2,580 in 2023, of which 740 are catamaran-type boats, whose popularity is showing significant growth.

Catamaran Cup under way in Nafplio

Launched by Istion Yachting in 2010, the event has become one of the most popular on the regatta calendar, drawing entries from 18 countries. The race, which takes place in the Saronic and Argolic gulfs, ends on Saturday.

Greek authorities investigate boat collision off Aegina
Authorities were investigating the cause of a collision between two sailing boats off the island of Aegina Friday, which led to the injury of a British woman who was transferred to the island's health center.
Ferry rams into port of Rafina
A Greek catamaran passenger ferry carrying 215 people onboard crashed into the port of Rafina, in eastern Attica, on Monday, according to reports. No injuries were reported.
"Flyingcat 4," which connects Rafina to the islands of Tinos, Naxos, Ios, Sikinos and Folegandros, was trying to dock when the collision happened.

Tragedy in Russia, at least 11 have Died
Eleven people were killed when a barge and a crowded catamaran collided in Russia's Volga River, pitching people off the sailboat and into the water.
Emergency Situations Ministry officials said rescue operations ended on June 12 when searchers found the body of the 11th victim, a woman.
