Vucic: We extremely appreciate friendship with Central African Republic

BELGRADE - Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic said on Thursday evening Serbia extremely appreciated the friendship with the Central African Republic (CAR) and that the relationship was a priority, and added that he would do everything in his power to develop various deep relations with the CAR and other African countries.

More than 42 People Died in a Landslide in Cameroon

At least 42 people have died in a landslide caused by heavy rainfall in Western Cameroon, local authorities said today, cited by the France Press.

There are reports of dozens more buried beneath the masses following last night's landslide in the western province of Bafoussam, where a rescue operation is underway, province governor Fonka Awa Augustine said.

At least 12 people were killed, including a pastor, in an attack on a church in the capital of the Central African Republic, a medical source said, quoted by DPA.
 
About 30 injured were taken to a hospital in Bangui, a spokeswoman said. The International Doctors Without Borders organization said it had medical help for about 50 injured.
 

France to end military operation in Central Africa this year

France will end its military intervention in the Central African Republic this year as it has achieved its objectives of restoring security to the country after three years of communal violence, the French defence minister said on March 30.

 "I can confirm to you the end of Operation Sangaris during the course of 2016," Jean-Yves Le Drian said in the capital Bangui.

More than one million children need urgent aid in the conflict-torn Central African Republic: UN

More than a million children in the Central African Republic are in urgent need of humanitarian aid while almost half of those under five are malnourished, the United Nations said on Nov. 27. 

Some two million children have been affected by violence which first broke out in December 2012, and 1.2 million now need urgent aid, said the U.N. children's agency, UNICEF.
