Lawmakers vote in favor of draft bill for bank recapitalization

The bill on the recapitalization of Greek banks was voted in Greek Parliament through fast-track procedures on Saturday. The Radical Left Coalition (SYRIZA) government, its junior coalition partner Independent Greeks (ANEL), and opposition parties put aside their partison differences and agreed on the need to secure bank deposits.

Union of Centrists leader: I will support the government, if Tsirpas ends cooperation with Kammenos

Union of Centrists leader Vassilis Leventis said that there is a possibility to support, and even participate in the government of Alexis Tsipras.

In order to do this, Mr. Leventis set as a condition Panos Kammenos not to be part of the government.

“If he ends the cooperation with Kammenos, I will support the government,” he said to Parapolitika FM.

After the results of the September 2015 Greek elections came in there was no real surprise, besides the margin by which left Syriza won. The composition of the new Greek parliament saw an 8-party assembly, with the addition to the previous seven parties of the ‘Union Centrists’ of Vassilis Leventis.
