Forged travel docs abound in western Greece
The arrests of foreign nationals at regional airports in western Greece and on the Ionian islands with forged or stolen travel documents have increased drastically since Greece opened its borders 35 days ago at the end of the lockdown.

The right stuff
It is a positive development that Greece has now established a legal framework to attract international companies to the country to film television and big-screen productions.
In the not-too-distant past, few foreign productions (not even those with a Greek theme) were filmed in Greece as companies were put off by the maze of bureaucracy and the outright indifference of authorities.

The Independent Authority for Public Revenue and the Economic Police have launched a crackdown against tax and social security evasion on the islands of the Ionian, which started yielding results even from the first day on Thursday.

Hydrocarbon exploration maps for Ionian and Crete unveiled
The government on Wednesday provided the locations of the three blocks - two off the coast of Crete and one in the Ionian Sea - that will be tendered for hydrocarbon exploration.
The block to be tendered for exploration in the Ionian Sea covers 6,671.13 square kilometers and is located north of the island of Cephalonia and west of Lefkada and Corfu islands.

Cephalonia students hospitalized with food poisoning symptoms
Fifteen students enrolled at the Technological Educational Institute of the Ionian Islands were submitted to Cephalonias Argostoli Hospital with food poisoning symptoms on Tuesday.
The students reportedly became ill after having lunch at the campus restaurant.
