Ruling SYRIZA on Monday said that it will not be "terrorized" after unknown assailants planted a gas canister bomb at its branch office in Ilion, northern Athens.

The ground-floor office was badly damaged, as the assailants broke the front window and placed a cluster of gas canisters in the building's interior before setting off the charge in the early hours of Monday.

Russia vetoed on Friday a Japanese-drafted U.N. Security Council resolution to extend by one month an international inquiry into who is to blame for chemical weapons attacks in Syria, just a day after Moscow blocked a U.S. push to renew the investigation, Reuters reports.

A report by UN experts pointed to Bashar Assad's regime as responsible for the deadly Sarin attack in the Syrian city of Khan Shaykhun in April.

"The group is convinced that the Syrian Arab Republic is responsible for the use of the Sarin against Khan Shaykhun on April 4, 2017," the report said.

Police say ATM raiders used flammable gas to blow up a cash machine in Patra, in western Greece, before escaping with an unknown amount of money.

Police are investigating the incident which took place at the city's industrial zone in the early hours of Wednesday.

The Paris prosecutor has opened an anti-terror investigation after the discovery at the weekend of a homemade bomb at a building in Paris and five people have been arrested, sources close to the case said Monday.

A total of 152 people were injured due to a chlorine gas leak in Turkey's southeastern province of Siirt on Sept. 11, according to a statement from the Health Ministry.

The ministry stated 60 of the injured people were treated by the Turkish Red Crescent in a tent, as 92 people were hospitalized.

Six people suffered lightly in a tear gas attack by an unknown man at Germany's largest airport - Frankfurt am Main, reports Bild. The incident happened on Terminal 1.

According to released data, a large-scale operation of police and fire services has been activated on site. The perpetrator has not yet been captured.

United Nations war crimes investigators on Sept. 6 said they had evidence that Syrian government forces were behind a chemical attack that killed dozens of people in Khan Sheikhun in April.

Syrian forces have used chemical weapons more than two dozen times during the country's civil war, including in the deadly attack that led to US air strikes on government planes, UN war crimes investigators said.

Poison gas and other toxic chemicals were used dozens of times during the Bosnian conflict to torture and murder prisoners, but almost no one has been held directly responsible in court.
