36.4 percent of children in Turkey severely deprived
Even though April 23 National Sovereignty and Children's Day is still the only children's holiday in the world, it is not the same holiday of my childhood.
Children's Day, which was first celebrated in 1927, had the aim of making orphaned and poor children of the war era happy in a festive atmosphere. Unfortunately, after so much time, we are far from making children happy.
Will April 23 go down the drain again?
Last Sunday on April 10, the opening of the Vodafone Area ?nönü Stadium was celebrated. Speeches were delivered; the president and the prime minister ascended to the pitch and played football in joy.

Turkey marks Children's Day, improvements needed
Children's rights in Turkey have not been improving over the years, with many continuing to lack education, a new report has said amid the marking of Universal Children's Day on Nov. 20.
Nov. 20 has been celebrated as Universal Children's Day since the adoption of the Convention on the Rights of the Child in 1989, which was signed by Turkey in 1990 and enacted in 1995.

Ponta to children at Gov't House: Please, use any opportunity to be heard
Prime Minister Victor Ponta on Thursday called on the children who attended an International Children's Day ceremony at the Government House to use any opportunity to be heard, saying that he listens to his own children, even if he gets home late in the evening.
