China’s first homegrown passenger jet makes maiden commercial flight
China's first domestically produced passenger jet, the C919, took off on its maiden commercial flight on Sunday, a milestone event in the nation's decades-long effort to compete with Western rivals in the air.
China Eastern Airlines flight MU9191 rose into the skies above Shanghai Hongqiao Airport just after 10:30 a.m., footage from state broadcaster CCTV showed.
US suspends 44 passenger flights to China operated by Chinese carriers
The United States announced on Jan. 21 that it was suspending 44 Chinese passenger flights from America to the Asian giant in response to restrictive moves by Beijing on US carriers under its Covid-19 protocols.
Part of the Wing of a Passenger Plane in New York Fell Off
A Chinese passenger plane forcibly returned to Kennedy Airport in New York after part of its wing broke off, NOVA TV reported.
China Eastern's Boeing 777-300 machine transported 300 people from New York to Shanghai. When taking-off, part of the wing of the plane broke off and fell to the ground.
Aegean Airlines nine-month profit grows 13 percent
Greece's largest carrier Aegean Airlines (AGNr.AT) said on Tuesday nine-month net earnings grew 13 percent to 80.9 million euros ($91.47 million) on improved load factors and higher sales.

Greek carrier Aegean signs $5 billion order for Airbus A320 neo planes
Greece's largest carrier Aegean Airlines signed a $5 billion deal with Airbus for up to 42 aircraft to renew its fleet of single-aisle planes, stay competitive and add capacity for future expansion.
It is the largest order by a Greek carrier and third time Aegean has invested in new aircraft since launching operations 19 years ago.
High fuel costs cut Chinese airline profits
Asia's biggest carrier China Southern Airlines said higher jet fuel costs clipped its profit in the first half, while China Eastern earnings rose but only with the help of a one-off asset sale.

26 injured by turbulence on Chinese flight
At least 26 people were injured when a China Eastern Airlines flight from Paris to the southwestern Chinese city of Kunming hit turbulence on Sunday, state news agency Xinhua reported.
