Amid a surge in violence targeting Chinese interests, a devastating suicide bombing struck a convoy of Chinese engineers in northwestern Pakistan, claiming the lives of six individuals. This latest attack marks the third significant assault on Beijing-linked projects in the country within a week, raising alarm over the security of foreign investments in Pakistan.

PNS TARIQ, the fourth and final ship constructed under Türkiye's national warship initiative Milgem's cooperation with Pakistan, was officially laid down in a launch ceremony in Karachi on Aug. 2.

China is planning to build its second foreign naval base in Pakistan following the ribbon cutting ceremony for its first overseas base in Djibouti last July.

Sources close to the People's Liberation Army have confirmed to the South China Morning Post that a Chinese naval port is being built at a strategic location on Pakistan's southern coast.
