China will respond if the United States takes any new steps on trade, the foreign ministry said on Sept. 10, after President Donald Trump warned he was ready to slap tariffs on virtually all Chinese imports into the United States.

U.S. President Trump tweeted on Sept. 8 that Apple Inc should make products inside the United States if it wants to avoid tariffs on Chinese imports.

Turkey has launched a legal process against U.S. tariffs on steel and aluminum imports, the Trade Ministry said in a written statement on Monday.

Turkey has increased tariffs on several United States-origin products.

The United States will begin collecting 25 percent tariffs on another $16 billion in Chinese goods on Aug. 23, the U.S. Trade Representative's office said on Aug. 7 as it published a final tariff list targeting 279 imported product lines.

BEIJING (AP) — China's export growth accelerated in July, showing little impact from a U.S. tariff hike in a spiraling dispute over technology. Sales to the United States rose 13.3 percent over a year earlier.

Beijing warned on Aug. 3 it was prepared to impose new tariffs on $60 billion worth of U.S. goods if Washington ups the ante in the escalating U.S.-China trade war.

U.S. President Donald Trump said in an interview released on July 20 he is willing to hit all Chinese goods imported to the United States with tariffs if necessary.
