Greeks show thanks to French for support in EU Summit
The French and the Greek people have a long-standing mutual respect for one another. This relationship, despite its ups and down, is embedded in the psyche of the two countries. It surfaced again recently when French technocrats offered their expertise to the Greek government to draw up a last minute set of proposals to help the Greeks avert a disorderly exit from the Eurozone.
Juncker: EU was wrong on Cyprus deposit hair-cuts
European Commissioner Jean-Claude Juncker admitted that the ‘hair cuts’ on Cypriot banking deposits by the Eurogroup in 2013 were a wrong move addressing the Cypriot Parliament Friday. He added, however, that Cyprus has managed to bounce back underlining the help the ‘Juncker’ package will offer the country to regain economic growth.

Director of the Israel office of the Simon Wiesenthal Center Efraim Zuroff says that Jews and Serbs were victims of genocide in the NDH.
The Independent State of Croatia (NDH) was a WW2-era Nazi-allied state led by the Ustasha regime that operated death camps, including Jasenovac.
Eurozone strikes Greek deal with tough conditions
Eurozone leaders made Greece surrender much of its sovereignty to outside supervision on July 13 in return for agreeing to talks on an 86 billion euros bailout to keep the near-bankrupt country in the single currency.

Dijsselbloem: 50bn Greek assets to recapitalize banks! (vids)
European Council chief Donald Tusk announced a unanimous agreement for Greece at a press conference with European Commission President Jean-Claude Juncker and Eurogroup Chief Jeroen Dijsselbloemm who announced details of the agreement.
“There is no Grexit,” said Juncker.
German president Gauck: Cannot image Eurozone without Greece
A personal Tweet by one of three reporters that interviewed German Federal President Joachim Gauck for ZDF television, the journalist noted that the latter said he “cannot imagine a Eurozone without Greece”.
The interview is scheduled to appear on Sunday evening in Germany.
Juncker refers to 35 bln euros ready for ‘direct injection’ into Greek economy
Centrist Potami (River) leader Stavros Theodorakis was received in Brussels on Friday by EU Commission President Jean-Claude Juncker for a nearly two-hour meeting.
In statements afterwards, Theodorakis told reporters that Juncker believes the last Greek proposal is a “sufficient basis for negotiations”.
Verhofstadt says Greece will remain in Eurozone
Guy Verhofstadt member of the European Parliament and leader of the group of Alliance of Liberals and Democrats (ALDE) expressed his optimism talking to Europe 1 network, Friday about Greece coming up with a reliable set of measures and remaining in the Eurozone. “This morning Greece is much closer to staying in the Eurozone than leaving it”, he said.
