Half a million people in Greece suffer from COPD, most unaware
Approximately half a million people in Greece suffer from Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease, the most prevalent respiratory illness, but the majority are unaware of their condition.
The issue was highlighted by the Hellenic Thoracic Society ahead of World COPD Day, this Wednesday.
Turkish soldiers, Red Crescent help elderly
The Turkish Armed Forces and Red Crescent volunteers helped an elderly man with chronic lung disease get a new oxygen tank on April 17 in eastern Turkey.
Mehmet Kahraman, 81, lives in Sulucem village in Ağri province and suffers from chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). When his oxygen tank went empty, he called 156, the emergency number for the Gendarmery Forces.

The 29th COVID-19 Victim in Bulgaria is a 58-Year-Old Man
Earlier this morning, a 58-year-old man infected with COVID-19 died at a Haskovo hospital. Thus, the deaths of the coronavirus in Bulgaria are already 29 people.
The patient was admitted to the hospital's infectious ward on April 4.
17 COVID-19 Deaths in Bulgaria
A 54-year-old man died at St. Anna's Hospital in Sofia on April 4. The patient had underlying health conditions including Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) diabetes and hypertension and was diagnosed with COVID-19.
An 86-year-old COVID-19 positive man died in the same hospital. The patient had pulmonary insufficiency and heart disease.

Blagoevgrad has the most Polluted Air in the past 4 Days
There is air pollution in several cities of the country again, according to data of the European Environment Agency's "Air Quality" indicator. The most polluted is the air in the city of Blagoevgrad, South-West of Bulgari. For the past 24 hours over, the average daily levels of air pollutant concentrations exceed the norms 3 times, reports BNT.
