About 40% of 15-29-year-olds in Bulgaria Smoke Every Day
About 40% of young people (between 15 and 29 years old) in Bulgaria smoke traditional cigarettes practically every day, including 14% of young people under the age of 18 who are smokers. This is shown by a sociological survey by "Gallup International Balkan" commissioned by the Ministry of Youth and Sports, conducted in October.
Around 31 percent of Turkish population still smokes despite decade-long campaigns
Around 17 million people among Turkey's population of 83 million still smoke despite years-long efforts to discourage people from smoking, an expert said on National No-Smoking Day on Feb. 9.
But Murat Ağırtaş, the provincial health director of the Central Anatolian province of Kırıkkale, said Turkey dropped in the ranking of a list of heavy-smoker countries.

Churchill’s cigar sold for 10,000 euros at auction
A cigar once smoked by former British Prime Minister Winston Churchill has sold for 10,000 euros, according to the Boston-based RR Auction house.
Churchill partially smoked the 4in (10cm) cigar at the Le Bourget Airport in Paris on 11 May 1947.
It was sold on Wednesday night to a collector in Palm Beach, Florida. The buyer’s name was not released.
