Yachts race for parking spot in tourism hotspot Bodrum
People in droves have thronged to the famous resort town of Bodrum in the southwestern province of Muğla on the Aegean coast during the long Eid al-Adha holiday, causing traffic jams on the roads.
With yacht owners racing for a good spot to anchor their vessels in surrounding bays during their stay, the town's shoreline has become overcrowded as well.
Population in resort towns skyrocket
Like many other resort towns on Turkey's coastal provinces, Bodrum has become overcrowded with holidaymakers during the Eid al-Adha holiday this year.
The population of the town, which is around 400,000 during off season, in the province of Muğla on the Aegean coast has soared to 1 million.
Over the past week, more than 140,000 vehicles entered the resort town.

Istanbul Night Flight concerts to kick off in August
The Turkish metropolis Istanbul and Mediterranean resort city Antalya will host several concerts from August to November, organizers announced on June 28.
The concert series Turkcell Platinum Istanbul Night Flight will begin with the 60-person Night Flight Symphony Orchestra's Star Wars Cinema Symphony performance on Aug. 21, said organizer Events Across Turkey in a statement.

Russian tourists return to Turkish resort after flights resume
The first group of Russian tourists arrived in Turkey's southern province of Antalya, as Moscow resumed full-scale air traffic with Turkey on June 22.
On April 15, Russia had temporarily suspended regular and charter flights with Turkey due to COVID-19 concerns. After a two-month break, Russian tourists started to come to Turkey again.
Over 4,555 cubic meters of mucilage collected from Marmara Sea
Over the past 12 days, Turkish sea cleaning teams have collected a total of 4,555 cubic meters (160,858 cubic feet) of mucilage from the Sea of Marmara, said the country's environment and urbanization minister on June 20.
Updating on the efforts to clear out the mucilage, also known as sea snot, Murat Kurum said on Twitter that the operations were conducted at 278 locations.
