Airports unprepared for massive growth in air traffic
Pressured by the explosive growth of passenger numbers generated by Greece's expanding tourism market, officials are calling for additional air traffic controllers to ensure safe travel.
In 2014, the Greece's Civil Aviation Authority (YPA) was asked to hire an additional 70 air traffic controllers.

The secretary-general of the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO), Dr Fang Liu, commended the high level of security and services in the Greek aviation sector during a visit to Greece on Monday.
Liu met with Alternate Foreign Minister Giorgos Katrougalos and the head of the Hellenic Civil Aviation Authority (YPA), Konstantinos Lintzerakos.
Air-traffic controllers to hold 4 days of strikes
Air-traffic controllers are to begin four 24-hour rolling strikes on Sunday to protest new legislation outlining a restructuring of the Civil Aviation Authority.
The strike is expected to lead to cancellations of flights in and out of Greece for four days.

Greek civil aviation staff to hold walkout on holiday weekend
The Federation of Civil Aviation Authority Unions (OSYPA), which does not include air-traffic controllers, on Friday called a 48-hour strike for May 31 and June 1, a walkout that could cause disruption for those travelling over the Whit Monday long weekend.
