Curfew remains in force

The Cizre district of the southeastern province of ??rnak, devastated during ongoing conflict between Turkey's security forces and militants of the outlawed Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK), should immediately be declared a "disaster area," as well as all other zones of conflict, the country's main opposition party said after a party delegation's visit to the region.

One police officer was killed early on March 15 in clashes with the outlawed Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) in the Ba?lar district of the southeastern province of Diyarbak?r, which has been subjected to a new curfew. 

Three outlawed Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) militants were also killed.

Turkey's main opposition party has urged for food and accommodation to be given for those whose homes were destroyed in clashes between Turkish security forces and militants from the outlawed Kurdistan Workers Party (PKK) in the country's southeastern town of Cizre.

Turkey has killed five snipers from the outlawed Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK), who have caused severe casualties among Turkish security forces, in spot-on military operations in the southeastern towns of Sur and Cizre.

Turkish security forces killed 25 outlawed Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) militants during two days of clashes in two southeastern towns, the armed forces stated on Dec. 17, as President Recep Tayyip Erdo?an vowed to push ahead with operations in the region.

Eight members of the security forces were wounded and one civilian was also killed, according to the statement.
