Student bags prize in piano competition overseas
An 18-year-old Turkish student from the western province of İzmir has won the International Mozart Piano Competition.
Nehir Özzengin, a young piano student from İzmir, won the first prize at the International Mozart Piano Competition in Serbia.

Violin virtuoso Suna Kan dies at 86
One of Türkiye's best violin virtuosos, Suna Kan, who served as a soloist and chief violinist in the Presidential Symphony Orchestra for many years, has passed away at the age of 86.

Anne-Sophie Mutter | Athens | June 12

A 12-year-old violinist has taken the stage as conductor and soloist at a concert held by the Presidential Symphony Orchestra as part of the April 23 National Sovereignty and Children's Day celebrations.

Renowned pianist Yefim Bronfman and Norwegian conductor Terje Mikkelsen join the Thessaloniki State Symphony Orchestra at the northern port city's concert hall (tch.gr) on April 20. The Soviet-born Israeli-American soloist will be performing Schumann's Concerto for Piano and Orchestra and Beethoven's Fifth Symphony.

A music collector shares his joy
The Athens Conservatory is holding a special event on Monday in honor of music collector Stathis Arfanis, who donated more than 30,000 records - mostly classical and opera and many rare - to the state music school. 'I could keep them locked up in my house, caressing them like many mad collectors do.
