Climate change denial

About two years ago the UN's Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change warned that the world is headed toward a three degree temperature rise and that the coming years may prove to be the most critical in the history of humankind.

Climate deniers have garnered far more media attention than prominent climate scientists over the years, fuelling public confusion and slowing the response to global warming, researchers have reported.

The world's oceans are heating up at an accelerating pace as global warming threatens a diverse range of marine life and a major food supply for the planet, researchers said Thursday, reports AFP. 

The findings in the US journal Science, led by the Chinese Academy of Sciences, debunk previous reports that suggested a so-called pause in global warming in recent years.
