The National Institute of Meteorology and Hydrology has issued a yellow code for hot weather across the entire country today. Maximum temperatures are expected to range between 34°C and 39°C, with slightly cooler temperatures along the Black Sea and around 33°C in Sofia.

A yellow code for heavy rainfall has been issued today for 13 regions in Bulgaria. These include Vidin, Vratsa, Montana, Pleven, Lovech, Plovdiv, Pazardzhik, Gabrovo, Smolyan, Veliko Tarnovo, Stara Zagora, as well as Sofia-city and Sofia-region.

Today, most of the country will experience sunny weather, though Western and Central Bulgaria will see unstable air masses. Cumulus and cumulus-rain clouds will begin to develop before noon, leading to scattered showers and thunderstorms by the end of the day and into Thursday night. Significant rainfall is expected, particularly in mountainous regions.

On May 18, expect sunny weather with cumulus clouds forming after noon, leading to isolated rain showers in mountainous regions. Most areas will experience calm weather, with a light southeasterly wind in the east. Temperatures will range from 20°C to 25°C, slightly lower along the coast, and around 23°C in Sofia.

Today, heavy rainfall is expected in several regions, including Sofia-city, as a yellow weather warning has been issued. Cloud cover will persist throughout the day, with brief but intense precipitation anticipated in Western Bulgaria, particularly in areas like Sofia-city, Sofia, Pernik, Kyustendil, Smolyan, Blagoevgrad, and Pazardzhik.

On May 11, the weather is expected to be predominantly sunny, with heavier cloud cover anticipated in the East and South during the morning hours. A light to moderate northerly-northeasterly wind is forecasted. Temperatures are expected to range from 19°C to 24°C, with temperatures around 18°C in Sofia.

During the night, expect mostly clear skies with scattered high clouds, bringing generally calm weather with temperatures ranging between 5°C and 10°C, around 5°C in Sofia.
