Medical student studies at library he once worked as laborer

A medical student is now studying in the very same university's library where he once worked as a construction worker in 2017 in the eastern province of Elazığ.

"I have gained success after real hard work. I am happy, and this is a fantastic feeling," 23-year-old Hasan Coşkun told the Demirören News Agency.

Prominent artist describes controversial sculptures as ‘Turkish pop art’

A prominent Turkish artist has defended the much-debated sculptures and statues that mostly stand at the entrances of various provinces depicting things those provinces are known for, saying that they were "examples of Turkish pop art."

"I admire them very much," Gürkan Coşkun, also known as "Komet," tweeted on July 27.

1800-year-old Zerzevan Castle entrance found

Archaeologists have unearthed the 1800-year-old entrance of the Castle of Zerzevan, situated in the Çınar district of the southeastern province of Diyarbakır and is on the UNESCO World Heritage Tentative List.

"We have found the most important point to examine the architecture of the defense of the castle," said Aytaç Coşkun, the head of the excavation team.

One more body found days after Bosphorus crash

Body of another fisher was found on Jan. 14 days after three crew members of a Turkish fishing boat went missing in a collision in Istanbul's Bosphorus Strait.

"Body of I.D., one of the missing fishers, has been recovered [from the sea]," the Office of Istanbul Governor said in a statement.

His body was recovered from some 77-meter (252 feet) depth.
