German bus operator Flixbus has decided to reintroduce attendants on local coach service brand Kamil Koç after having received complaints from consumers.

The German company last year acquired Kamil Koç, which has been on the roads for more than nine decades, and decided to eliminate the bus attendants (muavin) and removed seat numbers.

Same coach, same team manager, same president.

An online campaign has been launched by activists, calling to the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality to replace the coach horses used in the Princes’ Islands with electric coaches.   

Animal rights activists have long been drawing attention to the poor conditions of the horses traditionally used for transportation on the four main inhabited islands off Istanbul.

Animal rights activists demonstrated over the weekend against the use of coach horses on Istanbul’s Princes' Islands, launching a campaign to raise awareness about deaths of the horses and their poor conditions.

In the presence of Macedonian Prime Minister Nikola Gruevski, the Belgian company officially opened its new factory near the capital, Skopje, in its first big investment abroad.

The plant is in fact already operational, employing some 450 workers, and produced over 100 buses for the US market this year.
