The Communist Party of Greece (KKE) on Thursday issued a statement, signed by 51 communist and labor parties around the world, condemning a conference on crimes by communist regimes that was organized by the European Union's Estonian presidency in Tallinn this week.

The Communist Party-affiliated labor union, PAME, is organizing a rally in central Athens on Thursday.

The event, to be held in Omonia Square at 10.30 a.m., will be a protest against evaluations and a so-called mobility scheme of forced transfers in the public sector. 

The All-Workers Militant Front (PAME), the Communist Party of Greece (KKE)-affiliated trade union, is protesting outside the Labor Ministry against the increase to pensioners’ health contributions by 4-6%. A PAME delegation is meeting with Labor Minister George Katrougalos to discuss EU-imposed changes to labor law.

The Communist Party-affiliated labor union, PAME, is organizing a rally in central Athens for November 1.

The event, to be held in Syntagma Square, will be a protest against “the policies of he government, the European Union and capital,” the organization said in a statement on Monday.
