Clashes took place on Saturday in Mandra during an event organized by the Hellenic-Ukrainian Chamber to honor the victims of the Soviet crime, known as Holodomor, when members of the Communist Party of Greece (KKE) and its youth wing (KNE) intervened and attacked attendees.

Seven people were injured on Thursday in fighting that broke out between groups of students outside the Propylea on Panepistimiou Street in central Athens, where an education-sector protest rally against the draft bill for founding non-state universities was underway.

Greek university student elections are set to take place on May 10, with the New Democracy-affiliated DAP-NDFK and the KNE youth wing of the Greek Communist Party (KKE) expected to be the main contenders. Last year's elections were contested by both parties, with both sides claiming victory.

I recently caught a televised speech by Greek Communist Party (KKE) general secretary Dimitris Koutsoumbas in Patra, southern Greece, during an "anti-imperialist" event organized by the party's youth wing (KNE).

Communist Youth of Greece released a spot for the elections on September 20 inspired by the famous series Game of Thrones using scenes, characters and characteristic lines so as to convince Greek people to vote for Greek Communist Party (KKE).
