Greek-Thai diplomatic relations to be celebrated with music
Greece and Thailand will be celebrating 65 years of diplomatic relations on May 31 with a performance of one Thai and two Greek classical compositions at the Athens Concert Hall.

The Thessaloniki State Symphony Orchestra performs a tribute to Richard Strauss (1864-1949) with a concert of the German composer's Serenade for 13 Winds, Duet-Concertino for clarinet and bassoon, Metamorphosen, Study for 23 Solo Strings and Till Eulenspiegel's Merry Pranks. The ensemble is conducted by Dimitris Botinis, with Spyros Mourikis on clarinet and Alexandros Oikonomou on bassoon.

Virtuoso violinist Giorgos Demertzis, acclaimed pianist Vassilis Varvaresos and the Athens Philharmonic, conducted by Byron Fidetzis, will perform two pieces by Nikos Skalkottas that had been thought lost up until about five years and which he first presented in Berlin in 1930: Suite for piano and small orchestra and his Concerto for violin, piano and orchestra.

Athens Concert Hall to showcase 'lost' Skalkottas works
It was April 1930 when Nikos Skalkottas presented two new pieces to an audience in Berlin, his Suite for piano and small orchestra and his Concerto for violin, piano and orchestra.
Theodorakis & Mozart | Athens | November 8
Pianists Danae Kara and Maria Eustratidou and the Aenaon string quartet (George Mandylas and Vasilis Soukas on violin, Manos Gouvelis on viola, and Asterios Pouftis on cello) will be performing Mikis Theodorakis's Quartet No 4 and Mozart's piano concertos 415 and 449 on Wednesday, November 8. The performance starts at 8.30 p.m. and tickets cost 10 and 15 euros.

Mozart's lost work to be performed in Turkey

Faz?l Say to play with Orpheus at Carnegie Hall
