Conference of Western Balkan States, Berlin

Serbia has the clearest stability of all countries in the region and it wants to have a stabilizing effect on other Western Balkan states.

This is what Serbian Prime Minister and President-elect Aleksandar Vucic said after meeting with German Vice Chancellor and Foreign Minister Sigmar Gabriel in Belgrade on Wednesday.

Good relationship with Moscow and Beijing does not come into collision with Belgrade's policy aimed at becoming EU member state, Vucic said Wednesday.

First Deputy PM Foreign MInister Ivica Dacic has received an invitation for participation in a conference of foreign ministers of South East Europe in Berlin.

Dacic on Tuesday received ambassadors of Germany and the Czech Republic Axel Dittmann Ivana Hlavsova who handed him a letter of invitation, the Serbian government announced.

Serbian Prime Minister Aleksandar Vucic "vowed to deepen trade ties within the western Balkans after he takes over as president in June," Politico is reporting.

The Western Balkans "can be a major development mechanism of the European Union."
