Survey: Majority of Germans in Favor of Mandatory Military Duty Return
In a recent survey conducted by the Forza Institute, approximately half of German citizens voiced their support for the reinstatement of compulsory military service, according to a recent report by DPA.
Anti-establishment group protests outside tax office
Some 20 members of an anti-establishment group gathered on Monday outside a tax office in Kallithea, southern Athens, and raised a banner in support of conscientious objectors.
According to police, a female member of the group briefly entered the office without incident before dispersing with the rest of the group.

HDP proposes law on conscientious objection
The Peoples' Democratic Party (HDP) submitted to parliament on Aug. 6 a law proposal for the right to conscientious objection.
The proposal, prepared by HDP lawmakers Pervin Buldan and ?dris Baluken, included amendments to the Turkish penal code, military penal code and military service law.
