Volunteers join forces to clean waste around Maiden’s Tower
In commemoration of World Environment Day on June 5, volunteers and divers have come together for the "Clean Environment, Clean Üsküdar" event held at the Istanbul district's Salacak beach aiming to tackle the issue of waste accumulated around the Maiden's Tower.
Istanbul preparing for Champions League Final
The Culture and Tourism Ministry has organized a series of events to enhance the promotion of Istanbul internationally prior to the upcoming Champions League final match scheduled for June 10.
The final will be held at Istanbul's Atatürk Olympic Stadium between Manchester City and Inter Milan.

Worlds collide in Constantinople-Istanbul
Five hundred and seventy years after the Fall of Constantinople, Recep Tayyip Erdogan chose the Hagia Sophia to celebrate the anniversary and his own victory in Sunday's elections. "Allah willing, we see this election as the gateway to the next century of Turkey and it will go down in history as such a turning point," as that of the Conquest, he declared on Sunday.

Türkiye on May 29 has marked the Ottoman conquest of Istanbul on its 570th anniversary with a series of events in the Turkish metropole.
Istanbul was besieged 28 times throughout history before its conquest in 1453 by Ottoman Sultan Mehmed II.

President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has strategically utilized the symbolic significance of Hagia Sophia, once the world's largest Byzantine cathedral, which he reconverted into a mosque in 2020, in order to mobilize his devout and nationalist supporters ahead of Sunday's runoff vote. Measures to be taken for buildings near Istanbul’s main highway
A work has been initiated by Istanbul Municipality to prevent the buildings lying parallel to the E-5 highway, which will provide transportation in Istanbul in case of a possible earthquake, from collapsing and blocking the road.
Satellite cities to be established in Istanbul to relocate risky buildings
Within the scope of preparation for the major earthquake expected in the Marmara region, 500,000 of the 1.5 million risky residences in Istanbul will be rebuilt on-site, and satellite cities of 500,000 residences will be established on both sides of the megacity to relocate the rest, Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change Minister Murat Kurum has announced.
