Political Parties in Bulgaria Demand Election Recount as CEC Probes Video Surveillance Failures

In 60 out of 11,626 polling stations mandated to have video surveillance, no recordings were made, according to data provided by the Information Service to the Central Election Commission (CEC). In response, the CEC has instructed district election commissions to gather information from these stations and to draft administrative violation reports.

Bulgaria: The Central Election Commission will announce the Final Results on April 6

The Central Election Commission (CEC) will announce the final results of the parliamentary elections on April 6, CEC spokeswoman Rositsa Mateva told BTA.

So far, summary data has been announced on the CEC results website, Mateva emphasized, not final. The commission found that the data from 11 protocols from abroad were not added to them.

CEC Test Publicly Remote Electronic Voting

The Central Electoral Commission will publicly test the remote electronic vote. The Electoral Law obliges the CEC to conduct 3 simulations by the end of this year.

The envisaged simulations are for the election of MEPs, MPs and municipal mayors. They will include members of the CEC, journalists, representatives of various institutions and non-governmental organizations.
