‘Composition of inflation stands out as factor to be considered’
In October, the composition of inflation stands out as a factor to be considered, the Central Bank has said in a report on the monthly price developments.
Unprocessed food prices, which are prone to temporary supply conditions and are relatively beyond the control of monetary policy, posted a strong rise in this period driven by fresh fruits and vegetables, the bank said.
Service sector feeds inflation
Inflation is proving extremely persistent, as despite hopes for a de-escalation in October, it strengthened further and reached 3.2%, according to Eurostat estimates, compared to 3.1% in September.

NBS: 0.1 pct June inflation at lowest monthly level in 2024
BELGRADE - Quoting figures from the national statistical office, the National Bank of Serbia (NBS) said on Friday Serbian y-o-y inflation had slowed down to 3.8 pct in June, staying on the path projected by the central bank.
"The inflation slowdown is owed chiefly to the prices of food and petroleum products," the NBS said in a statement.
ECB Cuts Interest Rates for First Time Since 2019
The European Central Bank (ECB) has cut its key interest rates by 25 basis points, marking the first reduction since 2019. The main refinancing rate, marginal lending rate, and deposit rate have been adjusted to 4.25%, 4.50%, and 3.75% respectively. This is the first decrease in the refinancing and marginal lending rates since March 2016, and the deposit rate since September 2019.

NBS: Serbian y-o-y inflation slowed down to 5.6 pct in February
BELGRADE - Quoting figures released by the national statistical office, the National Bank of Serbia (NBS) said on Tuesday Serbian y-o-y inflation had decelerated further, measuring 5.6 pct in February, in line with the its expectations.
Annual inflation climbs to 67 percent last month
Türkiye's annual inflation rate accelerated from 64.86 percent in January to 67 percent in February, but the pace of monthly inflation increase slowed, the data from the Turkish Statistical Institute (TÜİK) have shown.
Consumer prices advanced 4.53 percent month-on-month, down from 6.7 percent in January.

Eurozone Inflation Slows to 2.6% in February, Slightly Higher Than Expected
In February 2024, inflation in the Eurozone slowed down to 2.6% on an annual basis from 2.8% in January, but slightly more than anticipated, as preliminary data from Eurostat indicates.
Every month, the Consumer Price Index (CPI) increased by 0.6% in February compared to the previous month when it decreased by 0.4%.
