Holiday sales turnover falls by 8-10 pct
Retail commerce saw Christmas turnover plunge 500 million euros compared to last year as the problem of diminished disposable incomes was exacerbated by the negative timing due to political uncertainty in the country.

Greek retail trade rises 1.5 pct in July
The Greek retail trade saw a rise of 1.5 percent in July compared to the same month last year, the Hellenic Statistical Authority (ELSTAT) said on Tuesday.
The turnover index in retail trade for July 2014 recorded an increase of 1.5 percent compared to July 2013, while compared to June this year it recorded a decrease of 0.7 percent, ELSTAT reported.

Police officer suspended after she is caught stealing cosmetics
A 27-year-old police officer was arrested and suspended from duty Tuesday after allegedly trying to steal cosmetics from a store in Athens.
The officer is said to have walked out of the store with an eyeliner, concealer stick and mascara that she had not paid for.
