Pope Francis was welcomed at the Cotroceni Presidential Palace on Friday with full military honours by Romania's President Klaus Iohannis at a ceremony held on the Marinescu Plateau. Iohannis alongside his wife, Carmen, welcomed Pope Francis. The welcoming delegation comprised all presidential and state advisers.

Pope Francis has arrived in Bucharest on Friday for a state, pastoral and ecumenical three-day visit, carried out under the generic title "Let's walk together!." The Sovereign Pontiff was welcome, on the Henri Coanda International Airport, by President Klaus Iohannis and his wife Carmen Iohannis. He was honoured by a military guard.
President Iohannis says all participants embrace referendum idea after first day of consultations
President Klaus Iohannis said on Thursday at the end of the first day of consultations with parliamentary parties that all those who participated in the talks embraced the idea of holding a referendum. "They have all embraced the idea of holding a referendum ... (...) They all agreed that people should be encouraged to show up to vote in the referendum," Iohannis said at Cotroceni Palace.
New ministers swear in at Cotroceni Presidential Palace
The new ministers of Education, Defence, Labor and Social Justice, Economy, Culture and National Identity, Communications and Information Society, as well as that of Youth and Sports have been sworn in, on Tuesday, at the Cotroceni Presidential Palace in front of President Klaus Iohannis.
'Earth Hour" marked in the Capital City; Presidency, Gov't, Parliament to switch the light off
Several public institutions in the Capital City Bucharest, as well as organizations are marking on Saturday the "Earth Hour."
* The Presidential Administration joins the "Earth Hour" campaign for the fourth consecutive year.
In this respect, on Saturday, between 20.30 and 21.30 EET, the lights at the Cotroceni Palace will be switched off, informs the Presidency.

Central, Eastern European Leaders to Hold NATO Summit in Bucharest
Heads of State of NATO member countries from Central and Eastern Europe will convene at a summit at the Cotroceni Palace in Bucharest on Wednesday.
Bulgaria will be represented by President Rosen Plevneliev, who is on an official visit to Bucharest for participation in the summit, the press service of the presidency informs.
Defence Supreme Council to discuss national strategy, illegal forest clearing
The National Defence Supreme Council (CSAT) led by President Klaus Iohannis will discuss on Tuesday the impact of illegal forest clearing and firm measures to stop it, and the state of the programme of equipping the Air Forces with multirole aircraft.
The Council sitting will begin at 3pm on Tuesday at the Cotroceni Palace, the Presidential Administration announced.
President Iohannis receives Save the Children representatives on June 1
