Fines issued for counterfeit products on Rhodes
Market inspectors on Rhodes have issued fines worth 226,000 euros to two people for trading in counterfeit products.
As a result of the inspections, which took place last week, over 29,000 fake products were identified and subsequently destroyed.
A photo issued by the Interagency Market Control Unit (DIMEA) suggests that the fake products included games and toys.

Avgenakis: Surge in market inspections ahead of Easter
Intensive inspections in the agricultural market and along the borders continue in anticipation of the Easter holiday period. Minister of Rural Development and Food Lefteris Avgenakis has issued instructions for intensified inspections to protect both consumers and domestic agricultural products from counterfeit products.
Development Ministry imposes €243,000 fines on counterfeit products in Thessaloniki
The Development Ministry imposed fines totaling 243,000 euros on six businesses in the wider area of the northern port city of Thessaloniki for counterfeit products.
During inspections conducted by the Market Control Interagency Unit (DI.M.E.A.), 34,626 counterfeit items were seized and destroyed.
1 million liters of smuggled fuel seized
The Turkish security forces have seized 1 million liters of illicit fuel with an approximate market value of 38 million Turkish Liras ($1.3 million) in a simultaneous operation spanning 46 out of all 81 provinces, Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya has said.
