Bulgaria Charges Two People with Making False Identity Documents
Bulgarian police have arrested two people on charges of producng fake identity documents in the city of Plovdiv, the Prosecutor's Office of Bulgaria said on Friday.
Ivan Bogoev, 49, and a woman only identified as Anna K., 28, were detained for 72 hours on Thursday.
Four Bulgarians Busted in Greece for Fake Money Distribution
The police in the Greek city of Thessaloniki nabbed four Bulgarians in an attempt to put EUR 6 thousand fake banknotes in circulation.
One of the Bulgarians has been under investigation for being part of a counterfeit money trade channel which has led the police to the other three persons involved in the scheme.
BGN 20 Banknotes Most Commonly Counterfeited In Bulgaria
The BGN 20 bill is the most frequently counterfeited in Bulgaria, followed by BGN 10 and BGN 50 banknotes.
More than 2,000 fake bills have been seized since the beginning of the year, an employee of Bulgaria's State Agency for National Security (DANS) told BTV.
