Minister hails success in double-jab rate
More than 85 percent of the adult population in Turkey has been double jabbed and it is a "significant success," Health Minister Fahrettin Koca has said.
Nearly 53 million people aged 18 and above have been given two doses of the vaccine against COVID-19, according to data from the Health Ministry.

Only fully vaccinated can enter the country
Under the new rules, only travelers who have received three doses of the coronavirus vaccine can enter the country without additional documents.
According to the new Regulation on the COVID-19 regime for entry into Austria, the list of high-risk countries no longer applies.

No additional measures needed, says health minister
Turkey is closely following developments in the wake of the emergence of the new COVID-19 strain, Omicron, Health Minister Fahrettin Koca has said, adding that the current situation does not necessitate taking additional measures.
He recalled that Turkey immediately acted after the new variant was detected in the world and imposed travel bans on certain countries.
Turkey to start administering Pfizer-BioNTech booster shots
Turkey's health minister announced on Nov. 3 that the country will start administering booster shots of the Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 vaccine to people who received their second doses at least six months ago.
In a written statement following a meeting of the country's medical advisory council, Fahrettin Koca said the booster shots would be administered as of Thursday.

Universities urge students to get jabbed ahead of academic year
A number of universities in Turkey are calling on and encouraging students to have their two doses of vaccines against COVID-19 before the new academic year starts.

President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan previously said that unvaccinated university staff and students will be required to take PCR tests on a regular basis.
Turkey to impose mandatory PCR tests for some sectors
Turkey will begin requiring negative COVID-19 test results and proofs of vaccination for some sectors, including from teachers as schools reopen next month and for domestic travel.
The government announced a set of new rules late on Aug. 19 as the country fights the coronavirus pandemic with a strategy focusing on its vaccination program.
The number of newly infected on the rise
917 patients were hospitalized, 28 of whom are on a respirator.
The number of tested in the last 24 hours is 12.869, and the total number of tests performed since the outbreak of the epidemic reached 4.870.940.
Just to reiterate, epidemiologist Predrag Kon said that he is in favor of vaccinating children against coronavirus.
