White House says 50% of Americans fully vaccinated against Covid

Half of the U.S. population is now fully vaccinated against Covid-19, the White House said on Aug. 6, as inoculations rise in response to the surging Delta variant of the coronavirus.

"50% of Americans (all ages) are now fully vaccinated. Keep going!" Cyrus Shahpar, the White House's Covid-19 data director, tweeted.

Vaccination of children could start soon

Ljubljana – The head of the national advisory group for Covid-19 vaccination, Bojana Beović, has said that following the European Medicines Agency’s (EMA) approval of the Pfizer/BioNTech vaccine for children aged 12 or more, the group will recommend vaccinating children, especially children suffering from chronic diseases.

Bulgaria: Additional Vaccination Slots to Be Opened for Easter Holidays

Bulgaria's national vaccination task force decided on April 22 that "green corridors" for vaccinations against Covid-19 for all comers will be opened from April 30 to May 9, the Health Ministry said in a media statement.

Vaccines of the mRNA type will be on offer. Such vaccines include the BioNTech-Pfizer and Moderna jabs.

COVID vaccination campaign/ 58,261 people inoculated in past 24 hours

The National COVID Vaccination Coordination Committee (CNCAV) informs that according to data provided by the National Public Health Institute through the National Electronic Vaccinations Registry app, 58,261 people have received the coronavirus jab in the past 24 hours, with 47,520 injected with the Pfizer vaccine, 6,575 with the AstraZeneca, and 4,166 with the Moderna serum.
