It's going to be a fun weekend at the Gazarte roof stage (gazarte.gr), with two uplifting shows by local staples on the live circuit.

Local purveyors of gypsy jazz Gadjo Dilo take the stage at Gazarte's roof stage on Saturday, September 1, for a concert of classic numbers from Italy and France, as well as original work stemming from its albums "Manouche De Grec" and "Manouche De Grec Vol II." Doors open at 9 p.m.

This year, the annual concert held by street magazine Schedia at the Technopolis cultural complex will include more than just singing and dancing. There will also be theatrical performances, workshops and games, for children and adults, as part of a participatory program to get everyone to work closer together.

Local Gypsy swing act Gadjo Dilo has teamed up with folk rock singer Vangelis Germanos for a series of performances and will be playing the Gazarte Roof Stage on Thursday, July 27. The show starts at 10 p.m. and admission costs 8 euros.

Bosnian musician Goran Bregovic - famed internationally for his Emir Kusturica film scores - and his Wedding & Funeral Band, accompanied by Epirote clarinetist Petroloukas Halkias, will take concertgoers on a musical journey through the Balkans at the Lazariston Monastery in Thessalniki on July 12 and the Melina Mercouri Open-Air Theater in Athens's Vyronas neighborhood on July 14.

Don't miss out an upbeat performance by local swing and gypsy jazz act Gadjo Dilo, who will be sharing Gazarte's Roof Stage with veteran singer-songwriter Vangelis Germanos. Germanos will perform some of his hit songs with a twist of indie and swing.

The event starts at 10 p.m. and tickets cost 8 euros.
