Sofia, the vibrant capital of Bulgaria, is gearing up to host a prestigious international conference focused on innovation and creativity. Following the resounding success of the CreaTech Summit South-East Europe in 2023, the city is once again poised to become the epicenter of cutting-edge ideas and groundbreaking initiatives.

Africa's film industry is thriving and could create many millions of extra jobs if its potential was fully exploited, the United Nations said on Oct. 5. 

In a report, the U.N. cultural organization UNESCO said that an estimated five million people currently work in Africa's film industry, which contributes $5 billion to the continent's GDP. 

Iasi becomes this week the capital of Romanian fashion and creative industry, on the occasion of the Romanian Creative Week (RCW) festival, this being the first big event with an audience organized in Romania in 2021.

Ljubljana – There is a lot of untapped potential for cooperation between the Slovenian economy and the culture and creative sectors, Economy Minister Zdravko Počivalšek said at an on-line debate held as part of Innovation Day on Monday. The opening addresses highlighted the importance of creativity and innovation in the fight against the Covid-19 pandemic.

In the 21st century, it is impossible to think about arts and culture without creative industries. Creative industries sound fairly new for Turkey's majority. They are one of the key ingredients of the country's future as it gathers architecture, design, plastic arts, new media, culture and advertising sector and create a new hub for these different sectors to work together.

It brings together individuals and organizations with rich experience in creative industries, the government has announced.

Council members will help the Prime Minister to fully understand the needs of this sector so as to be able to make well-informed decisions for its further development.

Mobile apps and games development center, publishing center, scientific space and laboratories will be built in Varna. They will be part of the Center for Creative and Recreational Industries, which will work in the sea capital.
 

The conference presents the contribution of creative industries to the economy of the country, as well as the potential for their further growth and the impact that creative industry can have on a new image of Serbia, the Serbian government announced.

Bulgaria's movie industry grew by 88.1% between 2008 and 2010, which is the highest growth among the European countries, shows a survey on the economy of the creative sector.  

The survey of the Observatory of economy of culture shows that the sector of creative and cultural industry in Bulgaria is developing rapidly, in spite the general economic downturn.
