A 45-year-old man from Syria accused of rape and sexual acts with a six-year-old girl was arrested.

The man, according to a Greek police statement, is accused of committing criminal acts against a minor under the age of 12 inside an apartment in Athens.

A Greek child charity said on Monday it had received a report last July involving a 13-year-old girl from the island of Lesvos who told the police on Monday she had been raped by two men.

Two individuals accused of robbing and raping a 23-year-old in Thessaloniki and then posting the act online have been arrested by the police.

Thessaloniki police arrested a 43-year-old local man and a 33-year-old foreign national, who have been charged with rape, robbery, and violating personal data laws. They are expected to appear before a prosecutor.

For years, the woman experienced hair loss, weight loss, and memory lapses, often seeming disoriented. Friends and family feared she had Alzheimer’s. However, in late 2020, after being summoned to a police station in southern France, she learned a much more horrifying truth.

The 20-year-old girl from Salamina described what occurred, she was the victim of an attempted rape by a 35-year-old man.

“I got off the bus around 2:30 p.m. I saw him following me. I didn’t know what to do, I was on the steps, going down to the beach. He bothered me twice. I tell him, “I don’t want any more acquaintances,” I discourage him, and he comes back a third time.

An 18-year-old woman in the northern city of Thessaloniki was charged with rape, following a complaint filed by a 20-year-old man earlier this week. 

Domestic Violence Offices, which handle the majority of incidents, responded to 784 calls to the Domestic Violence Hotline last week, August 19-25. The number of female victims given the Panic Button app during this time was 147.

The 44-year-old is accused of raping the 16-year-old at least 10 times, and faces a felony charge of aggravated rape.

The defendant stuck to the defense line he has taken from the beginning, that he had an affair with the girl for about 2.5 months and said that is why his estranged wife left him.
