Arrest made in ‘Revenge Partnership’ terrorist group case

A 38-year-old man, wanted on charges of participating in a terrorist organization, has been arrested by police authorities. 

The arrest occurred Monday afternoon in the Peloponnesian city of Patras, with personnel from the Counterterrorism Unit and the Patras Security Sub-Directorate involved. 

Supreme Court prosecutor denies cover-up allegations in Tempe crash

Supreme Court Prosecutor Georgia Adelini on Wednesday rejected accusations that there is an ongoing effort to cover up presumptive misdealings by guilty parties in the official investigation into the deadly train crash at Tempe last year. 

"There is absolutely no judicial cover-up in the case of the Tempe accident," Adelini said at the 9th Economic Forum of Delphi. 

Appeal filed against acquittal of mother in Kolonos child pimping case

An appeal has been filed challenging the acquittal of a mother in the Kolonos case, where she was acquitted of the serious charge of pimping her 12-year-old daughter with the vote of only the jurors last week. 

The appeal contends that the evidence and documentation in the case were not adequately evaluated by the jurors. 

Greece says Beleri’s conviction ‘heightens concerns’ over judicial objectivity 

The conviction by an Albanian court of the elected mayor of Himare "heightens the concerns raised about the objectivity of the process," Greece's Foreign Ministry said on Tuesday, after an ethnic Greek was sentenced to two years in prison for buying votes.
