BELGRADE - Serbian Minister of Culture and Information Ivan Tasovac is staying in his first official visit to Macedonia, during which he participated in the Annual Meeting of the Council of Ministers of Culture of South East Europe, during which the Regional strategy on cooperation in the culture sector in South-East European countries was adopted on Saturday.

FM to attend third annual EUSDR meeting

BELGRADE -- First Deputy PM and Foreign Minister Ivica Dačić will head the Serbian delegation at the Third Annual Forum of the EU Strategy for the Danube Region (EUSDR).

The meeting is taking place in Vienna Thursday and Friday.

LONDON - In a move designed to boost long-term lending to local businesses and private borrowers in the Western Balkans and Croatia, the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) is extending up to EUR 500 million for on-lending to partner banks.

Economic Summit: Budget review, consumer debt, EU membership

BELGRADE -- Serbian Finance Minister Lazar Krstić said on Tuesday that he believes a revision of the country's budget will be adopted in August or in mid-September.

This will take place "after the flood damage estimates and assessment of their effect on the state budget are completed."

BELGRADE - The average indebtedness of a Serbian citizen stands at EUR 750, which is around 16 times less than the average indebtedness per EU citizen and five times less than in Croatia, said Veroljib Dugalic, secretary general of the Association of Serbian Banks.

“We expect that this year’s income from tourism will for the first time exceed the record high of 7.4 billion euro in 2008,” a tourism ministry representative told BIRN on Tuesday.

Police arrested the former Croatian Army serviceman on suspicion that he committed a war crime by killing three Serb civilians in the aftermath of the military operation in 1995.

The remains of 18 Serb civilians believed to have been killed during the Croatian Army’s military offensive in 1995 were exhumed from a grave in the town of Slunj.
