Government lays out changes to asylum system
Drastic changes to the asylum law are set out in the Citizens' Protection Ministry bill presented by Michalis Chrysochoidis to the cabinet on Monday which seeks to draw a clear distinction between migrants and refugees.

After deadly fire, Greece plans to step up migrant deportation
Greece aims to deport 10,000 migrants by the end of next year, the government said on Monday, following a deadly fire and clashes at its biggest migrant camp which is massively overcrowded.
15,000 UK citizens seek Cyprus residence permit

Russia provides e-visa application for St Petersburg and Leningrad region
Russia will provide e-visas for trips to St. Petersburg and Leningrad region as of Oct. 1. Foreign nationals, including citizens of Turkey, will be able to get single-entry electronic visas for trips to St. Petersburg and Leningrad region for trade, humanitarian and touristic travels.

About 1,500 asylum-seekers were being transported from Greece's eastern Aegean island of Lesvos to the mainland Monday as part of government efforts to tackle massive overcrowding in refugee camps and a recent spike in the number of people arriving from the nearby Turkish coast.

Greece moves hundreds of asylum seekers from crowded island camp
Greece began moving hundreds of asylum seekers on Monday from a camp on the island of Lesvos that holds around four times the number of people it was built for.
Over 11,000 refugees and migrants, most of whom have fled war or poverty in the Middle East, Asia or Africa, are holed up at Moria in Europe's biggest migrant camp.
